AliExpress sellers dispatch orders through various logistics providers. These logistics providers work with a wide network of delivery agents that deliver packages to their final destinations.

Some of these logistics companies also outsource the last-mile delivery of the package to a local delivery agent. If you look up your AliExpress order status once it has been handed over to this local delivery agent, it will typically display the message, “Received by Local Delivery Company”.

Following this update, your AliExpress package should be delivered to you within the next 1 to 3 days. However, it’s important to note that the delivery may be delayed due to various reasons.

In this guide, we will explore what happens to your package once the local delivery agent has received it and what you can do if your AliExpress order is delayed at this stage. Let’s get right to it!

What Does the Local Delivery Company Do Next?

All AliExpress orders follow a streamlined delivery process that includes the following shipment milestones:

  1. Order Completed
  2. Dispatched
  3. Outbound in Sorting Center
  4. Hand Over to Carrier (Air/Sea)
  5. Clearing Customs (Export)
  6. Departure at Origin Country
  7. Arrival at Destination Country
  8. Clearing Customs (Import)
  9. Received By Local Delivery Company
  10. Out for Delivery
  11. Delivered

If your AliExpress order’s tracking status displays the “Received By Local Delivery Company” message, it means the package has reached your country, has successfully cleared customs, and has been received by the local delivery agent.

The package will now be sorted, consolidated, scheduled, and sent out for delivery to the address that you provided. Most local delivery agents organize packages by delivery routes, taking into account factors such as drop-off locations and delivery deadlines.

Once the packages have been grouped according to route and destination, the personnel at the local distribution center will begin loading them onto their delivery vans in the most efficient manner possible. You’ll then receive your package at your doorstep.

How Long Does It Take To Receive Your Package?

You should receive your AliExpress order within 1 to 3 business days after it’s been received by the local delivery company. However, the package delivery could get delayed for a few reasons.

This includes if the center is dealing with a high volume of shipments, such as during the holiday season. Your order could also be delayed if you had provided incorrect or incomplete address information.

Occasionally, the center may be experiencing a labor or equipment shortage. In rare cases, the center may have misplaced or lost your package. As such, it’s possible for your package to take a full week or two to get delivered, although this is rare.

In the unlikely event that the center ended up losing your package, you would not receive your package until the issue has been sorted out and the seller resends a new package. For this reason, it is vital to monitor your package as it undergoes each stage and take action if it has gotten held up for an unusually long period.

What To Do If The Status Doesn’t Update?

If your AliExpress order has been stuck at the “Receive by the Local Delivery Company” stage for several days, you should investigate the issue by first contacting the delivery company.

If you can’t reach them, you should then consider contacting the AliExpress seller and asking them to inquire about your order. If you’re not able to get in touch with the seller, you should reach out to AliExpress Customer Service for assistance.

If this route doesn’t work either, you should open a dispute. It’s advised that you follow the process below to get your order status resolved so that you’ll be able to get your AliExpress package.

1. Contact The Local Delivery Company

Your first course of action should be to contact the local delivery company that is handling your order. Once you get in touch with them, you should ask them the reason behind the delay and what date they expect to deliver your package.

If you believe the delay was caused by incomplete or incorrect shipping details, you can provide the local delivery company with the correct details to ensure they deliver your package to the right address.

2. Contact the Seller

If your parcel went missing, was damaged, or was returned to the sender, your best course of action should be to contact the seller. Once you get in touch with them, you should let them know what has happened and ask them how to resolve the issue.

The seller will then be able to inform you of the actions you should take or they may investigate and resolve the issue themselves.

3. Contact the AliExpress Support Team

If neither the delivery company nor the seller is responsive or able to help you, you should contact AliExpress’s support team for help. Once you’re in touch with them, explain the issue and provide them with all the necessary information. They should then recommend the required steps to resolve the issue.

4. Raise a Dispute

If none of the above strategies work, you should raise a dispute through your AliExpress account. You are permitted to raise a dispute within the buyer protection period, which is usually 60 to 90 days after your package has been shipped.

So you should ensure you raise your dispute before this period ends. Be sure to provide all the details related to your order when you raise this dispute. If you are successful, you will receive a refund or your order will be reshipped.

What Can You Do to Ensure A Smooth Delivery

Unfortunately, package delivery delays when ordering from AliExpress may happen and are in some cases unavoidable. These delays can happen due to a lack of supply chain infrastructure, weather conditions, a high volume of shipments, and other logistical challenges.

While some of these challenges are unavoidable, there are a few steps that you can take to reduce the chances of your order running into potential delays. Here are some key initiatives that you can take:

  • Provide Correct Delivery Details – Ensure you provide the correct delivery details when you place your AliExpress order. It may help to double-check the delivery address associated with your AliExpress account and ensure the information is complete and accurate at the checkout page. If you notice that it’s incorrect, you should change your AliExpress delivery address immediately.
  • Select a Reliable Shipping Method – Some AliExpress sellers allow you to choose your shipping carrier. You should research the different carrier options available and choose the company with a good reputation to reduce the chances of your order being delayed or getting lost.
  • Check for Shipping Updates – You should keep track of your AliExpress order status as it goes through the various shipment stages. If your package gets held up at any one stage for a long time, you should investigate the issue to prevent it from turning into a lengthy delay.
